I have finally started decorating the nursery at 29 weeks. I'm not big on characters so we're just keeping it simple. I would like to know if there is a certain item that mothers have found their babies really enjoy. Also, what are the best things to register for. Thank you for all your comments.

When registering, remember there are some gifts people are going to buy regardless of what appears on your list--i.e. bottles, diapers, clothes, etc. For me, I was using Dr. Brown's bottles (THE BEST!!), so I was sure to only register for that particular brand. I still ended up getting other types of bottles I didn't want. If there are certain items you want for the nursery decor, I'd register for those, too.

Hey Wendy!
If you are going to breast feed you need to register for a Boppy or a My Breast Friend.

I don't know what I would do without it. The best thing is that it can be used for many different things and you can travel with it if you need to.

Target has really nice Boppy's and I believe you can get the My Breast Friend from St. Bernards Breast Feeding store.

Umm...The things I couldn't live without would be my breast pump for obvious reasons. Another really great idea is the 3 compartment bowls they have now. These bowls are found on the baby isle at most stores and hold anything from cereal, formula, anything dry. I used it to pre-measure my son's formula so on the road and out for the day wasn't as hard to have someone make him a bottle or try to measure the cereal. Make sure you have tylenol, gas meds, orajel, etc BEFORE baby gets here...that way you and Dh are not running to store at all hrs to get it.

MY overall Favorite ITEM: The co-sleeper. I had ER c-section and had a child that was in hospital for one wk before getting to come home. Needless to say he was already spoiled when we were able to bring him home. So, we slept on the couch with him (slept on couch so I could prop myself up and not worry about rolling over on him)...When he was 3 mths I realized that there had to be a change. Someone told me about the co-sleeper that attatches to your bed...I LOVE IT...He wouldn't sleep in your regular bassinet (even when we first brought him home...closterphobic-sp I guess.)
Anyway, He slept in this til he was 8mths old--->connected right to my bed. I wouldn't change it for anything. Don't let ppl scare you saying if you keep baby in your room you will never get them to their own room. My son is now 1.5 years old and is the best sleeper. At 8 mths we moved his crib in our room and he did fine. Now, he is in his own room and naps on cue and goes to bed on cue.

My son absolutely loves the Linkadoos (sp). They are really cheap and he has had them since birth. Also, While I don't like children being plopped in front of the tv I think it is good for them to have a familiar song/tv show to listen too. My son has always loved music and loved (from day one) the Baby Einstein (baby mozart) video/dvd. Still to this day, he will sit and watch it as long as you let him. It is great when you need a moment to yourself and when nothing else is calming a fussy baby.

Sorry for rambling. Hope you find all the great products that fits your baby.
