I'm 30 weeks now. I don't know how other pregnant women feel right now, but I am begining to want to fast forward the time to my due date. I still have plenty to do before the baby gets here, but it is getting HOT and swelling is becoming more common. It's amazing how your body changes - how long does it take to lose the weight? Are there things I can do right now that will help, and did anyone do exercises to prepare for labor?

When a friend of mine had her first baby, I don't know if she actually did execerises to prepare for labor, but she did regular execerises until at least her 7th month, maybe even 8th month. I dont know if this will be helpful to you or not, but just thought I would share it with you.

Wendy,
Walking is great and just keep drinking lots of water!
I didn't realize how sore my arms were going to be after the baby.
No one tells you that! They were so sore from pushing!
So exercise those arms! :0)
Don't overdo it! Just relax, and get as much rest as you can! You'll need it when the baby comes!!
Take advantage of those people who want to help you.
I always felt like I needed to be nice and say no. But DON'T DO THAT!!
Let the ones help before and after the baby who offer!! :0)

Wendy,
I too agree, take what help is offered to you and your Dh as much as possible (now and after baby is born). The more you let ppl help, the more you can relax and enjoy the first few days w/ your baby. Their help will give you a chance to watch your baby grow over the next few wks (very quickly), instead of worrying about housework and things.
As far as exercise, I didn't do anything due to I had suffered a m/c 3 yrs prior to pregnancy with my precious angel son now. However, I think our own bodies know what we can do and what we can't. If you feel up to walking some, I think that would be good. It gives you fresh air, and gives you time to take in the moment.
As far as losing weight...I'll tell you my secret. I fully agree in breastfeeding (this is only my opinion...not intended to persuade you in either direction). However, I gained 17lbs throughout my pregnancy (only 17 due to g. diabetes), and lost all of the 17 and some by the time my son was 1.5 mths old. I felt the best ever! I think that is the best way to insure weighloss, however, some women gain it back after they wean due to they are use to being able to eat LOTS while breastfeeding b/c it burns soooo many calories.

I wish you and your family luck and a speedy recovery. You will be fine. Listen to your body! That is the most important thing. Take it easy next few wks...enjoy your belly...You'll miss it when the baby is born. Enjoy every moment, every hickup, every flip & flop!

Congrats to you and your family! You will do just fine! Remember to breathe & take it easy!

Best wishes to you and yours!
