32 weeks now. Thank you for all your comments on Breastfeeding. I'm sure I'll have many more. I do have another question for those of you who have pets. We have a cat who loves to cuddle. I am a little worried how she is going to adjust to a new baby. I think she'll be fine, but if not then we will have to make different arrangements for the cat. I would like to hear from those who have had pets with infants and how they reacted.

My boyfriend & me have a dog (not sure exactly what kind he is) who is really hyper when he meets new people. A while back we watched his nephew for the first time and suprisingly he acted ok with him. He sniffed him while he was laying on the bed and that was it. When he would cry he would want to know what he was doing but after a minute or so he would just lay back down. Since then he's acted great with him.

Even though we're getting ready for our 5th, this will be the first with us having a family cat. We're a little concerned but since the cat doesn't particularly like ME anyway (he is soooooo in love with my 10 year old daughter) that it won't be too bad. However, with the other 4 we had a sweet pooch (may she rest in peace :) and when we brought baby home we let Lucy (dog) sniff the carseat/carrier and we loved on her and told her how great she was. We hoped that would give her a signal that the baby smell meant good things for her (Pavlovian theory, right??) Anyway, she must have been the perfect dog for new babies because all she did was love on them and watch over them and as they got older, she was patiently accepting of their physical lovin'. We sure do miss ol' Lucy and hope Sam (cat) will be worthy of a blog entry someday!
