Well, I'm 28 weeks and I had the 3D-4D Ultrasound. I think the pictures turned out really good. It's pretty amazing to see. I still can't believe she's inside me. We decided on a first name - "Grace" - which is named after my grandmother. My husband and I are still debating on who she looks like. They do give you alot of pictures though, and even make a CD and video to take home. I'm curious though, if she'll really look like that after delivery. I'm sure she'll look a little different, but for those of you mothers who have had this done - did you compare the pictures to the child once it was finally here? If so, how close or different did they look after birth? Also, any good advice during my last trimester is always welcomed, so feel free to write me!

28 Weeks

Wendy is 28 weeks along now. Taking pictures is not her favorite thing right now. It may be a challenge to keep updated pictures, but I'll keep trying!

Thank you to everyone who's responded, it really helps to hear from those who've gone through pregnancy. It's the end of my 27th week and it's getting harder to get up and down from the couch, bed, car...well just alot of places. I know this is part of it, but it can be very frustrating. My husband and I are going to be taking a childbirth class soon, and I was wondering what we can expect. I'd like to hear from those of you who have gone through a class and what are some of the most important things I need to remember. I'm sure they'll go over alot of good points - but I am a little forgetful right now and I just want to make sure I remember the major things. Also, if anyone has suggestions on good exercises to do leading in to my 3rd trimester, I'd love to hear them.

26 weeks - I knew being pregnant during the summer was going to be tough, but I didn't realize how much the heat really can take out of you. Thank goodness for air conditioning. Many other expecting mothers say this is the time when they have done the 3-D or 4-D ultrasound. I have seen it done, but I'm not sure I am going to. I know it's another chance to look at your baby. I'd like to hear from those women who have had it and if they were pleased. Is it really worth paying extra?

25 weeks - I have not done anything to the room for the new arrival. I'm still a little nervous I'll get it all decorated end then it turn out to be the opposite, so I am waiting a little while longer. If anyone has any suggestions on what they've done for a girl's room, I'd love to hear them.

6-12-06 -- 26 Weeks Along

Monday, June 05, 2006

I am now 24 weeks. It's amazing how much the scale can go up in just 4 weeks. I think they should take your blood pressure BEFORE they weigh you, because I can feel my blood pressure shooting straight up the minute I find out how much I've gained. The doctor says my weight is fine, but I think I'm going to start drinking more water - so maybe I won't swell as much. I'll probably keep a bottle of water with me especially going into the summer. Even though I'm not prepared for the baby to be here yet, part of me wishes I could fast forward the next three months - just to avoid the summer heat!

The baby's kicking is becoming more often during my 22nd week. I am beginning to buy a few things now that I know it is a girl (I hope they're right). I still don't have hardly anything, and since the other women in my family have had boys - I have no hand-me-downs, not even a baby bed or anything! I guess they got tired of waiting on me and got rid of all their stuff. So if anyone has any baby furniture or girl things they don't want anymore - think of me please. Being pregnant for the first time, it's hard to know exactly what I need.

At 21 weeks I am definitely feeling pregnant. My belly is sticking out more and all I wear are maternity clothes. I know this is normal, but it's taking a little more adjusting for me to deal with my body looking different. The best thing husbands can do is to constantly remind their wives how good they look. Even if we don't believe it - keep saying it, and when you think you've said it enough - that's when we might actually start to feel better about ourselves. My husband is pretty good about telling me - but I never get tired of hearing it(HINT, HINT)!

I'm 20 weeks now. This trip to the doctor we had the ultrasound to determine what the baby is. We must have been in there for about 30-45 minutes and they waited to the very end to tell us the results. I think they try to trick you, because the whole time they would say he or she, and once you think you have it figured out - then they tell you! They say you dream about what you're going to have, and both my husband and I did. I'm not sure I really believe all that, but this time I guess it was right because we both dreamed it was a girl and according to the ultrasound that's what it is.

Finally! At 19 weeks, I think I felt something move in my stomach. They say it feels like a butterfly, but to me, it feels more like popcorn popping - except it's not that fast. I just started feeling it, so it 's not very strong yet.

I am going on 18 weeks and I still haven't felt the baby move. People tell me I may not recognize how it's supposed to feel. I guess they could be right - since this is my first child and everything is new to me. I won't find out what it is until about 20 weeks. We are planning on finding out what it is - I hope the ultrasound is right, I know several people who were told one thing and then they day of devliery - SURPISE, it was the opposite!
